Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, the Product Marketing Manager is responsible for helping to both fine-tune the marketing of existing product functionality to remain competitive in the market and to identify product functionality needed to meet demand and take advantage of market opportunity.

You will serve as the bridge between marketing & sales and product management. This means the Product Marketing Manager conducts ongoing competitive analysis and market research, and is in close communication with the product management and sales/marketing teams to inform the strategic positioning of PatientKeeper's products to prospects, customers, partners, and market influencers.
Core Responsibilities
  • Market intelligence: be the expert on our buyers, who are they, how they buy and their key buying criteria
  • Understand the competitive landscape: be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned
  • Collaborate with product management and marketing communications to develop product positioning and messaging that resonate with our target buyer personas
  • Understand and document our buyer's process, including where they get information, and the who, what, when and why behind the decisions they make; then drive changes to our sales and marketing processes based on what you learn
  • Develop a marketing plan for the products you support in conjunction with our marketing team, including key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers
  • Assess the effectiveness of the marketing programs that support the products on an ongoing basis, and report back to the business on required changes
  • Plan the launches of new products and releases of existing products, and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan
  • Act as a secondary thought leader for the products you support externally, including speaking engagements and written works
  • Understand and support our sales channels; train them on the problems we solve for our buyers and users; develop internal tools and external collateral and teach them how and when to use it


  • BSc/BA in Marketing, Communications or similar field
  • Proven success as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager in the Healthcare IT sector (specifically in the EHR and/or physician-facing IT market greatly preferred); 5-7 years of experience needed
  • Healthcare IT commercial market understanding and awareness
  • Some travel required (25%) - prospect and customer visits, industry trade shows, etc.


  • Familiarity with product marketing tactics (e.g. integrated marketing campaigns)
  • Working knowledge/familiarity with and Marketo or similar CRM/SFM/MPM systems
  • Excellent communication skills and strong networking capabilities
  • Good organization and planning skills
  • Creativity and a keen eye for detail
  • Analytical mind and strong quantitative and numerical skills
  • Experience in market analysis and reporting
  • Familiarity with industry analysts
  • Ability to dig "under the covers" with products (background in product management a plus)
