US Head of Performance Marketing

Edelman’s Performance marketing practice has grown exponentially in the last three years and is a team of 60+ performance marketing practitioners across the US. We are excited to find an inspirational leader to lead and grow this amazing team.

If you’re the right candidate, you are an accomplished media leader capable of winning net-new business, steering a national practice toward the future, and providing sound counsel to senior clients and teams across the modern media landscape, including marketing, consumer and channel insights, creative and effective channel planning, buy implementation and analysis, ad tech implementation, measurement outputs and dashboards, and brilliant client leadership.

This role can be located with an Edelman office in Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco or Seattle


Responsibilities of the US Head of Performance Marketing include:

  • Being the national lead for the Performance Marketing Practice and owning the Practice P&L

  • Creating a vision and plan to evolve our practice to exceed our current growth rate

  • Leading the creation of the required infrastructure (people, process, technology) to scale our practice and deliver results that exceed client expectations

  • Seek new media solutions to deliver on clients’ goals and evaluate current health of client business via analysis of relevant business metrics (ROI, A/S)

  • Mentorship and advocacy of the US Performance Marketing team

  • Ongoing senior strategic counsel on results-based initiatives leveraging media of all kinds, across a diverse set of major clients and industry verticals

  • Work with industry partners and cultivate additional relationships to ensure first-mover advantage in the space

  • Lead top-tier new business initiatives to ensure high close rate on net-new clients

  • Understand online research techniques and methodologies, using them to support development/execution of client campaigns

  • Being the lead in developing vendor partnerships, including buying platforms, financial systems, etc

  • Support new talent acquisition across media planning & buying, strategy & planning, analytics & attribution, ad tech, web development, content & creative, CXM, CRO, etc, to deliver the absolute strongest Performance Marketing offering to existing and perspective clients

  • This role is: 50% - Business Development, 25% - Team and Offering Development, 25% - Client Leadership


Preferred Qualifications we are seeking in the US Head of Performance Marketing Media candidate:

  • P&L and/or Practice Experience within a paid media agency, focused on overseeing digital 

  • Ability to influence and drive consensus and buy-in from a range of internal stakeholders in a highly-matrixed organization

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the entire online marketing ecosystem

  • Passion for growth and ability to provide counsel to existing clients while winning new assignments in competitive and non-competitive environments

  • Experience managing large-scale media programs with a diverse set of clients, spanning consumer, B2B, health, etc

  • Demonstrable experience building new capabilities to seize on market opportunities, spanning offerings, processes, technologies, etc

  • Minimum 12-15 years of experience, with 8-10 years overseeing search, social, programmatic, OTT and OLV
