An education client in NYC is looking for a SEO Marketing Analyst for a freelance role through 7/31/19

Describe the project that this role will support and/or what the individual will actually work on?

- SEO, organic search, adobe analytics

- Deliverables: continue to research topics that they should cover on blog, writing skills themselves combined with technical SEO

- Looking at search performance over time and content

- Doing analytics reports, measuring things over time, AP testing, site search

- 50% SEO focus and 50% other analytics

- Someone who can consistently deliver content to website

Describe the team and work environment

- Team of 3 and this would be the 4th person - direct marketing department

- Involved in tracking entire website to optimize user experience

What specific skillsets/technologies are absolutely required to be successful in this role?

- Someone who has familiarity with google web master tools, search console

- Conductor (SEO tool)

- Experience researching organic search keywords, identifying opportunities, running reports to monitor lists and search rankings

What are the challenges of this position?

- Have to be self motivated

- Wants someone who can do this research on their own

- Go to Sr. Director, Analytics & Insights Direct Marketing with ideas

- Not a team of SEO people, so you don't have other people doing the same thing as you

What would distinguish a candidate from being just OK, to being outstanding?

- Initiative factor, not just taking instruction

- Looking at new opportunities and willing to try new things

Background:

- Doesn't need education background

- Candidate who has done marketing with SEO - creating content

- Junior person who is ready to take on more projects in this area

- Identifying new topics that should be written about, the rest of this role is reporting and using analytics to find more opportunities

- AP testing component, analytics component

The SEO Marketing Analyst will work in the Direct Marketing team to leverage the organic search channel via content optimization and creation, technical and meta data improvements, and keyword research and reporting. This role will define and execute SEO strategy, work in collaboration with team members colleagues on the Direct Marketing and Brand Experience teams across other marketing channels, and disseminate analysis and insights related to SEO efforts.

Responsibilities

? Monitor traffic volumes and trends from organic search

? Identify SEO opportunities by conducting keyword research and tracking rank performance

? Review and enhance existing content for SEO

? Create and distribute reports tracking our organic search traffic volume, with specific focus on SEO projects designed to increase traffic

? Evaluate the impact of organic search on other channels

? Write and publish content that helps target organic search opportunities including the Student Blog

? Create and implement SEO strategies in line with business objectives

? Develop on-page SEO (content) strategies and advise on SEO best practices

? Monitor and report on rankings and organic search goals

? Undertake SEO research initiatives

? Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis projects for direct marketing campaigns

? Regularly share insights throughout the organization and foster a collaborative learning environment

? Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write and edit web content

? Killer organizational and time management skills

? Proven ability to analyze data from multiple sources and generate actionable insights

? Be team-oriented, resourceful and an excellent communicator (with technical people) and comfortable speaking with client and executives

The position necessitates a basic knowledge and continuing education in the following platforms:

? Adobe Analytics/Google Analytics

? Conductor/BrightEdge or and/or Moz equivalent

? Google Search Console

? Drupal or equivalent CMS

? Excel

Preferred Skills:*

? Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or related field

? 2+ years of experience with SEO strategies and techniques
