Director of Analytics

About the Role:

As a key senior member of the Data Sciences team, leading analytics for one of our major clients at Wavemaker and reporting to the Data Sciences Practice Lead at Wavemaker, you will be responsible for leading the Delivery and Operations as well as building, managing a team and supporting clients.

Basic Role Responsibilities:

  • Partner with client to deliver thought leadership, look for new ways to enhance, develop or execute creative solutions and insights through data and analytics
  • Recruit, train and manage all Data Sciences team members
  • Develop best in class audience management practices and scale DMP audiences
  • Ultimate responsible for the accuracy and executions of all Data Sciences deliverables by ensuring timeliness, completeness and insightfulness in the work
  • Demonstrate knowledge of client business and develop deep understanding of the telecom sector, strategic ideas, new initiatives, competitive positioning and work to ensure strategic thinking is applied
  • Set a vision and a test and learn roadmap to drive a cutting edge strategy and execution in all matters related to data and analytics
  • Develop strategic relationships with clients and provide support, as requested, to solve broad strategic marketing problems
  • Identify most efficient processes and operationalization’s


Leadership, Management and Influence:


  • Built and manage a team of experts in Audience Science, Advanced Analytics, Measurement and Reporting
  • Build strong relationships across GroupM leadership and as well as counterparts in other WPP agencies to best deliver the best of GroupM and WPP
  • Build strong relationships with key technology providers such as Adobe and Oracle
  • Manage the development and responsibilities of a team of analysts, managers, and associate directors
  • Strong operational, client engagement and delivery skills
  • Team player with a strong desire to collaborate and contribute
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to self-start and drive to the finish line



Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • 10 years + relevant work experience in analytics with expertise in digital media
  • MBA in marketing, economics, mathematics or statistics is a plus
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal), collaboration and delegation skills and client facing experience within media agencies or publishers highly desired
  • Progressively responsible roles in Digital Marketing, Consulting Services, Advertising, and/or Analytics
  • Functional team management and leadership experience: experience managing senior-level client-focused, business-critical resources
  • Delivery responsibility in Analytics, Marketing and Insights
  • Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with senior executives in the extended global GroupM and WPP family
  • Experience with Ad Tech platforms such as DoubleClick (DBM, DCM), Adobe (Analytics, Target, AAM, Oracle Data Cloud), and Prisma. Experience with DMP is preferred
  • SQL skills, ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries
  • Understanding of and experience using analytical and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations for lines of business
