Job Description
Self Esteem Brands, LLC is seeking a high-performance leader that is action oriented,
organized, resourceful and passionate about franchisee success to join our corporate team as a Director of Operations.
Job Summary: As the Director of Operations, you will lead the team responsible for the design, development, execution and adoption of business initiatives to ensure Franchisee top and bottom line performance. This role will require you to effectively balance the development and ongoing leadership of a high performing operations team with the ability to roll up your sleeves and contribute directly to the tasks at hand. Successful leaders in this position will leverage a strong leadership background in operations, project management, business planning and implementation as well as change management to deliver meaningful initiatives on time and under budget that serve the strategic objectives of the organization and don t exceed the gulp rate of the Franchisee network.
The Director of Operations reports directly to the Brand President. This person has a unique opportunity to add value in a broad range of activities that directly contribute to the success of the brand. The position requires 25% travel and will be based out of our corporate offices in Woodbury, MN.
Key Position Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership for the internal operations team to support, develop and deliver initiatives to serve the strategic plan and performance objectives.
  • Source, interview, hire, coach and develop the future internal operations team, cultivating a culture of accountability and high performance under our company values of People, Purpose, Profits and Play.
  • Create an environment that encourages creative problem solving, critical thinking and innovative idea sharing.
  • Monitor status reports and meet weekly with team to guide decisions, encourage engagement, provide support and maintain accountability, urgency and effectiveness.
  • Lead goal setting and progress updates for team of direct reports.
  • Provide Brand President and other stakeholders with regular status updates, feedback and appropriate reporting on key initiatives and objectives.
  • Partner with Brand President and team to design a strategy for operations that aligns with and supports the organizations strategic direction, mission, vision, and values.
  • Responsible for developing, managing and communicating the brand business planning and communications calendar to ensure initiatives have the necessary runway to encourage adoption.
  • Develop and follow through on strategic action plans to deliver brand and unit level performance objectives.
  • Responsible for maintaining an up-to-date, accurate and easy to use Operations Manual - the source of truth for all Franchise policies and standard operating procedures for the brand.
  • Ensure system-wide uniformity, adoption and adaptation of programs, operational standards and procedures and develop programs to monitor studio performance against standards.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient, effective process to source, document and leverage Franchisee best practices to build and/or enhance programs, processes, policies and initiatives.
  • Cultivate an environment that promotes continuous improvement of business processes, increases consistency, reduces pain points and improves unit level economics.
  • Research and consider the impact of external trends (market, industry, competitive, regulatory) when creating and implementing operational best practices.
  • Lead the design, site selection, implementation, support and measurement for all field tests (POC, Pilot, etc.).
  • Assess, assign, lead and fill project management resource needs as necessary to support implementation.
  • Develop and ensure consistent use of project management best practices and organizational tools.
Communications / Training
  • Ensure appropriate training is included in the implementation of new initiatives, policies, procedures and products.
  • Leverage Franchisee and team feedback to assess supplemental organizational training needs.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are considered in communications planning.
  • Lead communications planning and execution including the development and management of the brand communications calendar.
  • Lead the ongoing management and execution of Franchisee Development Programs including New Franchisee Training, Vitals, Coaching Connections and other related programs.
  • Partner with team to draft, edit and deliver internal and external communications.
  • Develop and lead Franchisee feedback opportunities to steer the development and implementation of new initiatives.
  • Manage team and department expenses to meet or exceed budget.
  • Authorize necessary financial approvals.
  • Manage and approve expense reporting process for team.

Required Job Qualifications:
  • 7+ years executing large-scale initiatives including but not limited to organizational change, business process management, and organizational development
  • 5+ years leading and developing a team of professionals
  • Strong strategic and tactical communication planning and execution skills
  • Excellent collaboration, leadership, communication and decision-making skills; ability to balance strategy and execution of various change activities
  • Exceptional project/project and change management skills in scoping, design and delivery
  • Must be comfortable and effective in influencing stakeholders at all levels in the organization
  • Creative, out of the box thinking / problem solving
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills
  • Ability to influence without authority; servant leadership mentality

Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • Operations experience in a Franchise organization
  • Experience in the fitness and wellness industry
