Director of Media

This Media Director will be passionately proactive guiding a team and overseeing the department while managing their own book of business.


Responsibilities include:

  • Help shape our clients’ digital media landscape by leading their strategy development and media objectives
  • Create and present innovative, business media recommendations collaboratively
  • Bring together creativity and integration across the digital channel-including, but not limited to, social, mobile, video, local, programmatic
  • Provide solutions to clients by utilizing Silverlight Digital’s resources and understanding the interplay with traditional media and creative
  • Contribute to agency revenue growth through existing account opportunities, as well as new business
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships/ partnerships with ad tech companies
  • Act as intermediary for operations, account management and tech resources and recommend the best solutions for our clients
  • Negotiate best prices for media space and data targeting to optimize budget and return on investment
  • Understand how digital fits into the overall marketing mix including Search Engine Marketing and able to oversee both digital and traditional buys
  • Upsell and cross-sell Silverlight Digital’s wide array of services and offerings
  • Oversight of planning activities including evaluation of 3rd party research, data providers, ad serving and analytics
  • Evangelize the agency through speaking engagements, creation of case studies and thought leadership



  • 8-10 years of digital media planning within an agency or client environment
  • Keen understanding of the evolving digital landscape
  • Strong analytical mindset
  • Supervisory experience, training and working with junior team members
  • Understand how digital fits into the overall marketing mix
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills as well as presentation skills
  • MS Office proficiency, particularly excel and power point
  • Works well in a team environment and must be comfortable in a client-facing role
  • Pharmaceutical experience is a bonus (not mandatory)
  • Experience with Ad Serving and Bid Management technology
  • Ability to use syndicated research to guide strategic thinking
  • Exceptional strategic leadership abilities and analytical skills
  • Ability to form and build C-Level relationships
