HipHopDX is looking for a full-time Head of Business Development who will be responsible for propelling the growth of HipHopDX through strategic partnerships, promoting internal ideation and collaboration, driving sales and marketing strategy, while building, managing and growing the Sales & Marketing and Social Media teams.

The Sales & Marketing team is responsible for acquiring, planning and managing sales and marketing programs, performing and executing full cycle business development from lead generation to closing deals, developing and managing events, and trafficking ad inventory. In conjunction, The Social Media Team, is tasked with coordinating and postings all the necessary content that drives traffic to hiphopdx.com, editorial content that will build the voice and increase brand reach and loyalty, as well as implement sales and revenue related initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 to 8 years of sales and marketing experience with a proven track record to manage and grow a team. They will be expected to deliver quick results in a fast-paced work environment. A strong knowledge and love for Hip Hop is preferred.

 

Responsibilities

  • Create strategy, operations, and analysis to increase revenue and further objectives and goals of the company.

  • Responsible for meeting sales/marketing revenue goal of $2 Million per year -combined with the team

  • Develop and manage sales, social operating budgets.

  • Develop sales documentation to be used by the sales team and company wide in order to produce leads, showcase service offerings and close deals.

  • Create and manage product release calendars related to client sales cycles

  • Streamline the pre sale, campaign and post sale process.

  • Tap into previous relationships with clients to bring in revenue while attending sales calls with the brand partnerships team to help understand the market and close deals.

  • Work closely with the content teams to create tent pole editorial and IRL events

  • Increase conversions to our owned and operated properties and sponsors through our social channels.

  • Develop a continuous learning program to improve the  team's skills

  • Co-manage Social Media Team with EIC to ensure social media aligns with both business and editorial direction

 

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of progressive business development experience in a related or similar field.

  • 3+ years of experience in managing a sales team. 

  • Excellent contacts that can be leveraged for acquisitions (contacts in the talent, enterprise, brand and entertainment arenas)  

  • High understanding of sourcing clients

  • Experience in generating deal flow of over 500K to 2 million per year

  • Ad Trafficking Experience

  • Experience with digital marketing analytics tools

 

Nice To Have:

  • Experience working in digital media and entertainment

  • Understanding of Hip Hop and its culture
