PR Specialist

You will be primarily responsible for communications and public relations in North America, relating to Hylink’s product platforms and service offerings, including Hylink Digital Solutions, Hylink Investments.  You will also be responsible for communications and media relations reflecting Hylink’s interest and investment North America. Working with the US Head of Strategy and the Head of PR, you will create opportunities to showcase Hylink’s work in the US our innovative culture and community impact.

As a member of the Communications & Public Affairs team, you will work cross-functionally to help communicate with journalists, thought leaders, industry professionals, and our partners; devise specific communication materials and campaigns based on an understanding of industry interests; engage in face-to-face meetings with influencers, industry communications professionals, event organizers, and business leaders; develop print and web-based material supporting these campaigns; and counter misinformation that might interfere with our business and/or ability to serve our users. We're looking for great communicators who can understand complex issues and explain them in person and also via well-written, simple blog posts, FAQs, video scripts and more.

 

Term:

  • One year contract with permanent possibility

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree

  • 1 - 3 years of professional experience in a business, media, agency, marketing or non-profit environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with consumer, B2B, marketing, news media landscapes

  • Ability to think, plan and execute on multiple projects simultaneously in an organized fashion

  • Demonstrated ability to work calmly and maintain good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments, as well as ability to escalate appropriately

  • Experience acting as a company or brand spokesperson

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Verbal proficiency in English

  • Solid understanding of MLA/APA citations

Responsibilities:

  • Lead communications activities for Hylink’s products and services, and respond to media and blogger inquiries

  • Preparing internal presentations, schedules, monitoring relevant media coverage, researching, writing and editing media materials, such as press releases, pitches, newsletters, reports, including web copy, blogs, pitches, decks, and internal communications.

  • Collaborate with Hylink design, product, sales, and marketing teams to create compelling communications strategies that illustrate the functionality and key benefits of Hylink’s products and platforms as well as Hylink’s work globally.

  • Develop close, productive relationships with journalists, event managers, bloggers and  key partners in the industry

  • Develop written materials, including story pitches, messaging guidelines, press releases, Q&As, social media posts, presentations and speeches

  • Maintain, negotiate, and own key communications related agreements with industry partners

  • Identify, develop, own, and execute on marketing communications schedule including industry events, speaking engagements, sponsorships

  • Partner with our team to create memorable events and projects
