Design Director

The Role

Design Directors are recognized for having significant design experience – in various aspects of applied design. They play a major role in the delivery of client projects through the studio, and are expected to demonstrate leadership in the following ways:

  • Project leadership –  take the lead on projects or with particular clients/particular areas of applied design
  • Agency leadership – take a senior role in the life of the agency, leading others by example in the studio, being responsible for promoting design excellence internally, deputizing for Creative Directors at client presentations and promoting the external face of Vault49
  • Mentoring – mentor and provide guidance to a given team, outside of project-based work. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Graphic Design (or similar relevant qualification)
  • Significant experience and a proven track record at a senior level in a Creative Agency environment (including Design and Marketing Communications)
  • Strong creative folio with evidence of contribution to great work at a senior level
  • Good verbal communication and presentation skills – able to present fluently and confidently to senior Clients/New Business leads
  • Creative insight and ability across a wide range of Design and Marketing Communications executions
  • Ability to lead and inspire the creative team
  • Support and mentoring of the wider studio team
