POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Marketing Strategy plays a critical role in helping our clients drive business value from customer data and marketing technology. This individual will be responsible for leading client organizations in the application of insight across their business, particularly in the areas of marketing strategy and customer experience. In close partnership with Elicit’s data science team, this role will identify significant insights from analytics and research, define potential opportunities to validate those insights through testing, and create strategic roadmaps to improve our clients’ customer journeys. Additionally, the Director of Marketing Strategy will partner with Elicit’s technology team to ensure the desired marketing and customer experience capabilities are build into the clients’ technology roadmap.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify opportunities to improve client marketing and customer experience through the use of analytics and research
  • Define tests to prove the value of those opportunities, and prioritize those tests based on a combination of anticipated business value, feasibility, and alignment with client business objectives
  • Create playbooks to guide client teams in marketing and testing best practices
  • Define processes to ensure organizational adoption and execution of marketing and testing plans, including the identification of interdependencies across marketing, analytics, and technology
  • Help lead client teams to ensure that testing programs and roadmap initiatives are executed in a timely manner
  • Partner with clients to understand current state customer journeys – including pain points, gaps, and inconsistencies in experiences across channels – and how they differ by key customer groups
  • Develop client customer engagement strategies that meet customer needs, link to overall business objectives, and align with the organization’s brand values
  • Apply insight to inform clients’ ideal customer journeys across the omni-channel ecosystem
  • Align organizations on key metrics for tracking the effectiveness of marketing and engagement programs
  • Partner with data and technology teams to analyze business value, identify strategic opportunities, estimate impact on customer relationships, identify desired future functionality, and ensure proper prioritization of strategic investments

IDEAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • At least 10 years of marketing experience with demonstrated ability to leverage customer insight to drive business value
  • Direct experience with planning or executing marketing programs, including digital marketing, direct marketing, CRM, omni-channel marketing, communications/PR, or loyalty (experience with attribution a plus)
  • Solid understanding of the omni-channel experience, including knowledge of how individual marketing channels should be leveraged to drive the overall experience
  • Comfort with interpreting analytics and research and identifying meaningful insights
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft a compelling story to motivate and align stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research techniques
  • Working knowledge of the marketing technology landscape
  • History of building strong relationships with internal or external client partners
  • Proven experience in leading cross-functional initiatives and teams
  • Strong executive consulting skills, and an ability to communicate with all levels of an organization
