Position Overview

Reporting to the Sr. Marketing Manager of Strategic Initiatives, this position is responsible for building innovative marketing strategies and leading, planning and executing strategic marketing programs designed to drive foot traffic and awareness of key tenant and mall property initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Project manage the creation, delivery and optimization of marketing campaigns – from large/complex to short/specific – that utilize a broad, omni-channel marketing mix to position Brookfield Properties Retail and its retail properties strongly in the market and drive engagement, mall traffic, increased shopper spend and frequency of visits, and awareness of the company's tenant portfolio
  • Leverage consumer research to promote and optimize content that resonates with the key shopper segments
  • Strictly and diligently manage marketing program budgets
  • Deliver flawlessly executed marketing activations on time and on budget
  • Collaborate with Corporate Public Relations to create strong PR plans to complement our marketing programs
  • Research and maintain expertise in current and emerging consumer marketing trends and experiences
  • Provide regular status reports and briefings to stakeholders and functional leadership teams
  • Leverage Project Management platform(s) to organize and inform work-teams, document decisions, share creative assets and assign tasks
  • Oversee marketing activation and tactic performance and effectiveness and optimize when necessary
  • Represent team as marketing subject matter expert, consult with internal and external partners to ideate and deliver marketing strategies and plans
  • Have a detailed understanding of sales performance and traffic results for marketing ‘activated’ properties and implication to on-going strategy
  • Seek and encourage retailer participation in marketing programs as an effort to promote their business and add value to overall marketing efforts
  • Manage and prioritize work effectively to ensure internal deadlines, timetables and approvals are met 
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or relate field required, Master’s degree preferred
  • 6+ years of B2C marketing experience, including digital and retail marketing experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in digital marketing
  • Event management and coordination is a plus
  • Experience in the food industry is a plus
  • Strong experience with strategic planning and project management

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects and deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment
  • In-depth knowledge of both traditional and digital marketing and ability to lead the development of creative and innovative marketing campaigns
  • Strong competency and experience with using social media as a business while keeping an eye on emerging social trends
  • Experience with key technology enablers, including, but not limited to social media publishing and monitoring applications (Adobe Social, Shoutlet, Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Crimson Hexagon, Radian6 or similar), content management systems (Adobe Experience Manager experience a plus), website analytics (Adobe or Google), and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver)
  • Expert level knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is critical
  • Ability to manage unique events across the country
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS with an understanding of web site architecture and navigation a plus
  • Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices, and experience applying those to web sites and digital programs
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, including proficiency in copywriting and proofreading
  • Ability to travel if needed and weekend and evening hours may be required
