Description WFSU-TV/The Florida Channel has a full-time opening for a Sr. Reporter, Job Id 43781. About Us The Florida Channel - located in Tallahassee, FL - produces 24/7, year-round coverage of all three branches of state government. Programming includes gavel-to-gavel coverage of a wide variety of state proceedings, along with daily news programs, documentaries, public affairs programs and segments covering issues of interest and importance to all Floridians. The programming is delivered statewide by satellite and is also available on the Internet. Our newsroom staff work with a full production team to include videographers, graphic artists and editors. What will you be doing? In our Capitol Complex location, you will cover legislative and other state government issues for Capitol Update, a half-hour newscast, in addition to contributing to other daily and weekly news programs that may require travel across Florida. What do we need from you? ? A Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related area and a minimum of three years reporting in a professional broadcast environment. ? Proof of a valid FL Class E or GA driver's license or the ability to obtain license upon hire ? Able to satisfy the travel and schedule requirements ? Have strong writing and research skills ? Experience writing scripts on deadline. ? On-camera experience. Applicants will be given story ideas and asked to file a sample report following interview.
