Digital Content & Communications Manager

  • Identify various audiences and how best to engage each target audience through social media and web content delivery
  • Establish a process that connects Manager with content owners in a way that ensures timely and strategic information dissemination
  • Develop solid working relationships with each of the content owners and identify customer service/communication goals
  • Evaluate current web site and social media practices to identify deficiencies in the Town’s communication to the target audiences
  • Create strategies for short term and long term projects to develop content strategy aligned with social media/web goals
  • Collaborate with department heads to plan and develop site content while ensuring brand consistency
  • Create and publish engaging, timely, high quality content and communications
  • Write, edit, proofread content and messaging
  • Optimize content according to SEO and generate increased inbound traffic and outbound engagement
  • Use content management systems to analyze website traffic and users engagement metrics
  • Manage content distribution to online channels and social media platforms to increase web traffic and enhance user experience
  • Develop an editorial calendar and work with department heads to meet deadlines
  • Ensure compliance with law (e.g. copyright and data protection)
  • Develop and maintain a social media policy for the Town
  • Stay up-to-date with developments and generate new ideas to draw audience’s attention
